A modern adaptation of John Bunyan's beloved classic tale. Follow Christian and his companions on the great journey from the City of Destruction to the gates of Heaven. Along the way, the pigrims face obstacles large and small, man-made and demon-spawned. Beyond the gripping drama, Bunyan's powerfrul allegory teaches us the hazards and hopes of the Christian life, and the tirumphant glory that awaits all who faithfully follow the King of Kings. The allegorical story includes characters named Obstinate, Pliable, Hopeful, Legality, Worldly Wise, Evangelist, and so forth and they are all fittingly named as their characteristics parallel their names. |

The spiritual truths which are highlighted are praiseworthy. The story effectively deomonstrates that obstacles can be overcome. This is a must see film.

From the producers of "Clancy" and " The Perfect Stranger " comes Christmas story that carries a year-round message for the ages. "The Perfect Gift" is a Capra-esque tale of a spoiled schoolgirl, her overworked executive mother and a disillusioned minister and how each receives an uplifting message about friendship, commitment and the truest meaning of Christmas from a friendly, but mysterious drifter named Jess. This is a wonderful Christmas film that will encourage people to look at the real definition of Christmas and the reason we celebrate this time of the year. |

Like so many other Jefferson Moore movies, this one is truly enjoyable for the entire family. Max is a young girl who just happens to have a birthday on the same day that Jesus was born, but she does not like it. She also is not happy that her school assignment is to write about Christmas. As Jes helps Max with her essay, he also helps the community, her mother and the assistant minister see how important God's perfect gift to us was, the gift of love. It also takes a look at what is happening in the world today at this very special holiday season. That Christmas is a time for kindness and love, not gifts and shopping. And that people need to stand up for what they believe in and not let others that do not believe bully us in hiding the real reason we celebrate Christmas.

What was supposed to be the perfect vacation comes to a horrific crossroad for Detective David Ramsey. Aboard a private yacht on the shimmering Sea of Cortez, his wife and friends suddenly disappear. You already know who he is--Now find out how he got there. Most of us know Billy Graham as the self-assured and charismatic preacher who became one of the most important figures of 20th century Christianity. Now, with the release of BILLY: THE EARLY YEARS, we can meet Billy as the earnest and promising young man at the crossroads of faith and doubt, ultimately facing the moment of decision that launched one of history's most powerful evangelistic careers. Perhaps most compellingly, BILLY: THE EARLY YEARS paints its portrait of Graham against the backdrop of his relationship with Charles Templeton, another gifted young preacher whose faith would not withstand the onslaught of modern scientific skepticism. He and Graham parted ways and in the film, Templeton comes to personify the rising tide of disbelief into which Graham launched his crusades. |
![]() |
Filmed in Tennessee, BILLY: THE EARLY YEARS captures the feel of the Depression-era tent revival where Graham heeded the altar call, and follows him through the doubt and resolution of the next decade. The film was directed by veteran TV actor/director Robby Benson--the voice of The Beast in DIsney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
The movie's power lays in its honest portrayal of Billy's struggle with the ideas represented in Templeton's eventual unbelief and shows how Billy's faith, so compellingly portrayed in the film, goes on to help change the face of modern evangelism. This is a wonderful biography of Billy Graham's early years when he is converted and attends Bible College and begins his ministry. Billy (Arnie Hammer) is played as a likable young man who is a bit green but committed in his walk with Jesus. He has some funny moments, and his awkwardness came to the edge in a few scenes of being a bit much, but there is plenty of drama in this powerful story.Billy's talented colleague, Charles Templeton, begins to question his own faith over the issue of suffering in the world. He challenges Billy to ask questions and to examine what he believes. Billy's faith is solid however, and is helped along by young Ruth Bell, whom Billy takes a liking to.
This film is strengthened by some talented actors including Lindsay Wagner as Billy's mother, and Martin Landau as an older Charles Templeton. Landau is captivating in his role. This film is well worth watching and will make you thankful for the life of Billy Graham.

The Imposter tells the age old music industry story: sex, drugs and rock and roll, and the rise and fall of a star. Except this time, we're not talking about some mainstream act; we're talking about Christian music. The movie centers on musician Johnny C (Kevin Max), husband, father and frontman for popular Christian rock band Grand Design. The group plays all the major Christian churches and venues, sells records and has loyal following. Johnny C has everything an artist could want. He also has an addiction to painkillers and women. |
![]() |
When his wife leaves him and his band kicks him out, Johnny C finds himself broke, homeless, and at rock bottom. Befriended by a church janitor (Kerry Livgren, Kansas) who doesn't pull any punches and shows him how to begin to take the masks off, but will it be enough to turn his life around? Kerry Livgren introduces an updated version of the classic song “Carry On Wayward Son” in this film. This film will not be officially released until the end of 2009 or early 2010, so don’t miss this one!!
The film is not rated, but tastefully deals with issues of infidelity and prescription drug abuse. Recommend for ages 13 and above.

Dan Donahue (Thom Matthews) has finally met the woman of his dreams. But on the night he is going to propose, he is overcome by deep-rooted anger caused by the father who abandoned him as a boy. Dan confronts his feelings of bitterness head on as he pours out his heart in a letter to his father. As Dan writes, we see his life unfold, feeling his pain and ultimate joy, as we watch him grow from young boy to troubled teen and finally into a strong, spiritual man. In the end it is Dan's father, played brilliantly by John Ashton (Beverly Hills Cop I,II, III) who must face his own failures as a father in a climactic one on one meeting with the son he left behind. |
Based on a true story, A Letter to Dad is a touching story of how faith and love can overcome a lifetime of pain and anger. This is a powerful drama! Many people will relate to this well-acted, tightly directed and edited film. This story will touch a lot of viewers, particularly anyone who has dealt with some kind of difficult relationship, divorce, or abuse in the family, which covers a lot of humanity in the viewing audience. The theme is that fathers need to be there for their kids and this movie very strongly shows what happens when they're not. The awesome ending in this film gives hope that things can change.

This film gives everyone something to think about as we go about our daily lives. This film drives home a point that the Dove Foundation has been talking about for over 12 years, namely the content of film/video today and what impact it has on our society. This is only one element among many the writer of this film uses to make his point, but one that is close to this reviewers heart. This film cleverly shows us what our society has lost from a perspective that most church going Americans can relate to. I am so glad that I decided to rent this film and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Director Rich Christiano is to be commended for this much needed and timely film.

Lee Strobel draws the viewer into an interesting discussion about faith in Christ as the one true answer in the world of religions. Strobel examines the tough objections to Christianity, specifically the issues of Christians stating that Christ is the only way to heaven, and why there is evil and suffering in the world, if a loving God created it. Interestingly, Charles Templeton, who used to preach with Billy Graham, shares how he once reached throngs of people with the gospel, but how he began to lose his faith as he asked himself the aforementioned questions about God and evil in the world. John 14:9 is used in the program: "He who has seen me, has seen the Father." |
Strobel interviews various biblical professors and scholars and also Joni Eareckson-Tada, whose diving accident in 1967 left her paralyzed yet her faith in Christ over the years has remained intact. Indeed, it seems to have deepened more as the years have gone by. She shares the things she has learned and how she has learned to listen for God's voice during the still times. As various people mention evil being a choice, not a thing, and share examples of how terrible situations had a silver lining, the viewer will be left to decide what he/she makes of the evidence. This is a compelling program and should be a fascinating watch for most people.
Although we award our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal to this great program, we realize that young children might find it a bit deep to enjoy. For most, it will be thought-provoking, fascinating, and covers a most intriguing topic: Was Jesus Christ who he said he was?

Though nine out of ten Americans claim a belief in God, public expression of faith is more contentious as ever. Lord, Save Us From Your Followers is the energetic, accessible documentary that explores the collision of faith and culture in America. Fed up with the angry, strident language filling the airwaves that has come to represent the Christian faith, director (and follower) Dan Merchant set out to discover why the Gospel of Love is dividing America. Utilizing a broad array of expert interviews, man-on-the-street bits, hilarious animations and "I've never seen that before" stunts, Lord, Save Us From Your Followers brings everyone into the conversation that this country is aching to have. |
In the tradition of "entertaining documentaries". Lord, Save Us From Your Followers, employs the language of pop culture to create a provocative, funny and redemptive viewing experience that will leave the audience talking for hours. With exclusive interviews with comedian/Senatorial candidate Al Franken, former Senator and Religious Right inside man Rick Santorum, noted "liberal evangelical" Tony Campolo, conservative radio host Michael Reagan, racial reconciliation activist Dr. John Perkins and features with Bono, Pastor Rick Warren ("Purpose Driven Life"), James Dobson, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, no stone is left unturned in this engaging, unpredictable and challenging look at the conflict over religion in America.

'Twas the night before Christmas in the Southwest, and for five strangers spread out across town, it's the most depressing time of the year. As the night progresses, they randomly cross paths, and in unique subtle ways, change each other's lives forever. This is pretty good story-telling as several characters' lives intermingle and small miracles, if there are "small" miracles, occur. Some characters help others out; for example, a gas station attendant helps a woman with a broken down car, some teens sing Christmas carols to shut-ins, and a character changes and becomes a giving person. He donates a meal to feed the hungry people who were stranded at a gas station with car problems. |
In a nice scene a pastor tells his youth minister that sometimes you do the right thing because it is right, not because you will necessarily see a result. The acting is very good and the film is nicely directed and edited. Stephen Baldwin gives a strong performance as do the other cast members. The viewer sees real people and real problems in this story, and sometimes the answer is not clear for a time, but there are signs of hope and the characters find this truth. We are pleased to award our Dove Seal to this wonderful film.
