There is always SOMETHING going on around WHFC. We believe that the building is a tool provided by God to be used, and we USE it every day of the week. Below are some of the bigger events coming soon to our church campus!

On August 21, 2010 from 10:00 am- 4:30 pm Betty's Boutique will be having a Back to School Clothing event. Can you help us get the word out to those who might need clothes but not have the money to buy them? This Back To School Clothing Event Brochure gives the details (copies of the brochure can be obtained by calling the church office). Betty's Boutique (BB) is a friendly, confidential store where individuals can come to "shop" for free. The store consists of gently used/new clothes, toys, toiletries and housewares. BB has been opened to the public for about a year now. Since opening we have been able to help numerous families who are in need. The donations are overwhelming and they just keep coming, what a blessing. Betty's Boutique is becoming well known throughout our community - other churches in the area, social workers, schools, Emergency 211 all promote this ministry. Besides having people come in, Betty's Boutique has been able to assist other ministries in the area in distributing clothes - we have "teamed up" with Birthright (an organization that helps unwed mothers); St. Pascal's homeless ministry (they drive to downtown distributing clothes and food to the homeless on the streets); downtown women and men's shelters and we were able to participate this year at the annual Convoy of Hope. This was held at the Painesville fairgrounds where other churches and service providers were handing out free food, haircuts, clothes etc... |

Steven Curtis Chapman, will be sharing several of his new and profound songs from his Beauty Will Rise album. This album was created in the past 18 months in the walk through the darkness of the loss of his daughter Maria, and while God continues to meet him there on the journey, part lament, part praise, part grief, part hope, part wrestling, part pondering; these songs resonast as Steven's Perosnal Psalms. It is a desperately hopeful, raw, personal, and honest concert that is likely the most important of his already incredible 20 plus year ministry.

For three days only, on October 22-24, you are invited to step back in time and re-live Moses' life, as the Creative Arts Department of Willoughby Hills Friends Church presents a dramatic musical entitled "Moses and the Burning Within". “NO!” is the first word we hear screamed from the depths of Moses' soul. He is waking up to his true identity. And though he may have been aware of his dual citizenship as both a Hebrew and the adopted son of Hatshepsut, the daughter of Pharaoh, everything changed the moment he really understood the truth. Killing an Egyptian didn’t help. Disconnected from his kinsmen and pursued by his adopted family, Moses flees to Midian. But, he'll be back. |
This is the story of finding a home. And being at home, being at peace, means answering the call burning within your heart.
