Peace and Joy - Yours for the taking Genesis 1:27 (NCV)
"God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female." (Genesis 1:27, NCV) And . . . it was done! Then we turn around and try to make Him into our image. But our great, compassionate God never gets it wrong:
We demand vengeance when someone wrongs us. God is full of grace.
We believe He should be the Almighty Vending Machine in the Sky, giving us what we want when we deposit a couple of requests. God gives us what we really need.
We repeat the same old prayers over and over and think that is enough for Him. God wants a real relationship filled with time, sharing, celebrating and mourning
We just know He will smite us when we mess up and fall flat on our face. God is our greatest cheerleader, always encouraging us to get back up and try again.
There is so much more joy and peace available (what I am convinced the world is looking for) when we CHOOSE to allow ourselves to be like Him.
Show grace even when it is against our better judgment (our judgment is not better after all).
Give forgiveness even when we don’t get the "I'm sorry" we deserve.
Serve those less than ourselves (and greater than ourselves).
Love your God, who made you in His image, with all your heart, soul, and mind: your whole being.
Love people unconditionally.
Walk with Jesus
Now that is peace and joy. Be a blessing to someone today and every day.
