Women's Ministries

In Women's Ministries, we desire to meet the needs of women through all seasons of life in our church and our community. A variety of services and ministries are offered by the WHFC Women's Ministries department that are tailor made for women in various stages of life. Please consider yourself invited to any of the ministries listed below. And, we are always open to new ministries especially if you are willing to help make them happen!

Mastering Motherhood

Mastering Motherhood seeks to provide love, support, encouragement and friendship to women seeking to follow the Lord in the adventure of mothering. Each week the ladies come together as a large group for brunch and devotions after which they break off into small groups studies. There is childcare provided for preschool and elementary aged children. The studies range in topics from parenting to deep bible studies. Several of the studies don't build upon the previous week's discussion so you can join at any time!

Women's Fall Banquet

The Ladies Missionary Fellowship hosts a Women's Spring Banquet. The evening is kicked off with a Chinese and silent auction plus a bake sale with all the proceeds used to support missions. There is then a catered banquet followed by a combination of touching and humorous entertainment and an engaging speaker. Previously, this event has been held in the Spring but in 2011 it will be held in the Fall and likely be a tea party.

WHFC Ladies Retreat

Annually women of our church gather together for a retreat weekend away for spiritual growth and fellowship. The retreat has a speaker and sessions on Friday night, Saturday morning and evening (with time for shopping or just relaxing in the afternoon) and Sunday morning. This is a wonderful time for women to come together and enjoy a weekend away with each other and the Lord. The retreat is open to women from any denomination.

In 2010, we will be using the "One in a Million" video series by Priscilla Shirer and meeting in Amish country.

Contact the Director of Women's Ministries if you would like to teach a class and/or are teaching a class and would like to open it up to other women.

The following classes for women are currently being offered:

Adult Christian Education Discovery Groups (includes classes for men and women plus ones just for women on Wednesday and Sundays)

Thursday Morning Classes for Moms targets Moms with preschoolers or school aged children.

Additionally, we have the following women's study available:

A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place... by Beth Moore

Discover the parallels of the Tabernacle's building and your life as a chosen vessel of God. While the title is familiar, the content for this in-depth video teaching series is all new and rich in detail. Taken primarily from the Book of Exodus, A Woman s Heart: God's Dwelling Place by Beth Moore will take you on a fascinating journey into why God would chose to live in a wilderness tabernacle, made by human hands.
