A Prayer – Renewal

Renewal Prayers are prayers of a contrite heart that aims for God’s will and ways after the assurance of forgiveness in confession. Consider these Scriptures as you begin to incorporate renewal in your daily prayers:

    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10

Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel, and are in no way intimidated by your opponents. For them this is evidence of their destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God’s doing.

Philippians 1:27-28

A Virtue – Trust

Trust is easier said than done…especially when trust has been broken. And chances are that you are faced with at least one circumstance that requires trust in the Lord. Can you walk with trust?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not rely on your own insight.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God.

1 Peter 1:21

An Action – Engagement

If you have experienced God’s rescue in Jesus, it’s critical to remember that God is at work to rescue others. Has God placed certain people in your life to share in His work for rescue? How can you make your life more proximate to them?

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’

Luke 10:2-4
