SUMMER WITH FRIENDS

The Future Is Bright

Summer is a special season at Friends Church. It is a time when longer days and warmer weather create unique opportunities to grow in faith and deepen community. Check out our events to see all the ways you can get involved this Summer.

SUNDAYS THIS SUMMER

Join us on Sundays this Summer as we worship and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus. We are excited for these upcoming sermon series and events. We hope you and your family will join us!

JUNE: Ruth
JUNE: Ruth

The term “Ten Toes In” refers to being committed to something or dedicating 100% of one’s support to it. We often define our lives by the big moments, but most of our lives consist of ordinary chapters. These chapters may not feel significant, but ultimately, they end up changing everything.

In one of the darkest moments of Israel’s history, the story of an unlikely woman shines. Despite being an outsider, Ruth went all in on trusting God for a better future. Her choice of going “ten toes in” would bring great blessings upon her, her family, and future generations.

No matter where you are in life right now, remember that your story is not finished. Maybe it’s time to go “ten toes in” and give God a chance.

JUNE 15: Father's Day

There is something God-entrenched deep within the very fiber of our manhood that shouts against the mere idea of mediocrity and yearns for something more. We believe “more” is God’s grand calling for men to reflect His greater glory in who we are and how we live.

Join us as we celebrate Fatherhood, what God designed, and what we have been called to do as Men!

We’ve got experiences for the whole family, including challenging obstacles that test our strength and speed, food, and a special kids’ experience. We promise we’ve got the whole family covered!

We’ll see you for Father’s Day at Friends Church!

JUNE 29: Graduation Sunday

At Friends Church, we prioritize building the next generation—and that means celebrating the moments that truly matter. Graduation Sunday is one of those moments, as we recognize and honor our high school graduates not just for their academic achievements, but for a key milestone in their spiritual journey. This is a time to reflect on how far God has brought them and to pray over the road ahead as they step into adulthood. Don’t miss out on this powerful opportunity to cheer on our students and surround them with love and support as they move forward in faith.

JULY: Black Sheep
JULY: Black Sheep

The genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 contains close to 50 names, revealing a surprisingly dysfunctional family tree.

It isn’t just a list of the ‘greats’ of biblical history, right alongside the prestigious name of King David; we find other names—names that we would generally expect to be lobbed off of a family tree for the sake of propriety.

Scandalous names like Tamar, Bathsheba, Ahaz, and Manasseh

Black Sheep.

Not only are there the names of women (who were not included in genealogies because they lacked social status), but also these particular characters whose backgrounds would detract from the sparkling prestige of this genealogy in a big way, yet they were included!

What can we learn from these Black Sheep?
